Dose Rate:

  • EQUIMEC Tape is given orally at the recommended dose level of 200µg Ivermectin/kg and 1mg/kg Praziquantel liveweight
  • The contents of one syringe will treat one horse at 600kg liveweight
  • Each weight marking on the syringe plunger will deliver 1.29g of paste which is sufficient to treat 100kg liveweight

Directions For Use

  • Turn the knurled ring 1/4 turn to the right to lock it in place
  • Remove the plastic cap from the tip of the nozzle
  • Make sure the horse’s mouth does not contain feed
  • Insert the syringe into the side of the horse's mouth in the gap between the front and back teeth
  • Advance the plunger as far as it will go, depositing the medication on the rear of the tongue
  • Immediately raise the horse's head for a few seconds after dosing to ensure the full dose has been swallowed

Notes to User

  • Resolution of summer sores involving extensive tissue changes may require other appropriate therapy in conjunction with treatment with EQUIMEC Tape
  • Reinfection, and measures for its prevention should also be considered
  • Consult your veterinarian if the condition does not improve

Suggested Parasite Control Program

  • All horses should be included in a regular parasite control program with particular attention being paid to mares, foals, and yearlings
  • Foals should be treated initially at 6-8 weeks of age, and routine treatment repeated as appropriate
  • This product is highly effective against tapeworms and gastrointestinal, cutaneous, and pulmonary nematodes and bots of horses of all ages
  • Regular treatment will reduce the chances of verminous arteritis and colic caused by S.vulgaris
  • Consult your veterinarian for a control programme to meet your specific needs

Meat Withholding Period (Horses)

Do not use less than 28 days before slaughter for human consumption
